The SECREt eXCHANGE

Theme: Please send Secrets to both the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, Australia and the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul, Korea.

SECRET EXCHANGE is an ongoing project, first publicly implemented in 1976, it will be continuing into the future in morphing form, guise, disguise.
Exhibition: Your ENVELOPES containing secrets are for display in the gallery exhibitions. Gallery visitors may select from these envelopes on the condition that they themselves reveal secrets in exchange. These will be posted back to the artists selected; and this ongoing process of 'selection' will continuously alter the display throughout the period of the exhibition.
What you choose to put on the front of the envelope, therefore, makes a 'public' face for the world. It is primarily on this basis that the selection of your work will be made, while the contents of the envelope delve into 'private' interiors within or elsewhere. These 'insights into the private' will mainly, but not entirely, be seen one-to-one as exchanges are completed.

ENVELOPE SIZE: Standard business envelope sizes are our preferred maximum, however, the preference is not a restriction.
PRIVACY: Anyone concerned about their address being publicly revealed should use a work, gallery or other proxy address.
DETAILS PAGE: For our use, please include a with each envelope, the following:
1. Name, address, email contact, facebook, etc.
2. What is the name of your work?
3. From whom, and by what means (e.g. facebook or other) did you first hear about The SECREt eXCHANGE?
4. What are the areas of your 'practise' (in prioritized order)?
5. Include any other information, verbal or visual, of your choice,
including, if you wish, the back of the page.
TO WITHHOLD DETAILS: from the public, If you wish, please 'highlight' those details to be withheld.
Leave the bottom 1/3rd of the page blank for our additional notes: when displayed, when exchanged, to whom, etc.
DETAILS PAGES SIZE: Pages are A4-size vertical. North Americans should use Legal Size which can be cut down to A4). A margin for binding of 4 cm (roughly 1 ≤") should be left empty on the left-hand side of the page (visuals only need ∏ that amount). The backs of sheets may also be used for additional material of your choice. When secrets are sent additionally to the initial two, the enclosed sheets only need your name, address, title of work - and whatever else you choose to include, leaving the bottom 1/3 empty.
DO NOT SEAL THE ENVELOPE. So that the Details Page may be removed.
Envelopes can, if needed, be kept closed with vertical strips of sticky tape.
DOCUMENTATION: Exchanged secrets and documentation will be sent to you. Your early and ongoing responses for the Exchange are hoped for.

DEADLINES: These dates are the end days for the exhibitions so that contributions can continue to arrive throughout the shows. In Sydney, the MCA will be presenting Tell Me Tell Me at the NAS Gallery, opening Jun 15 through to 24 Aug, and in Seoul, the NMCA is presenting from Nov 8 to 19 Feb.

MIÑA PARTICIPACIÓN (SECRETA)

Tema: Por favor envíe los secretos a ambos museos de arte contemporáneo: en Sydney, Australia y el Museo Nacional de arte contemporáneo en Seul, Corea. El INTERCAMBIO SECRETO es un proyecto en curso, primero ejecutado público en 1976, él continuará en el futuro en la forma morphing, modo, disfraz.
